Why Choose Laminate Flooring?

Laminate flooring is a layered floor built around a watertight, glued, high density fibre (HDF)

We run the Quickstep Laminate ranges which consist of four different layers.

The top layer is a transparent wear resistant overlay, this makes the flooring resistant to stains, wear, impact, scratches, burns and household chemicals.

The second layer is a very high resolution photo of real wood or tiles.

The third layer is a moisture resistant glued HDF core board.

Finally, there is the balancing layer, a moisture resistant backing layer that guarantees a perfectly balanced board.

Quickstep laminates have a Scratch Guard surface layer and Hydroseal technology.

Hydroseal is a water repellent coating that prevents water from entering the floor’s grooves.

Laminate flooring is fitted over an underlay and requires an expansion gap around the room, matching scotias or even white ones are used to cover these. In some cases skirtings are fitted after the flooring to cover the expansion gaps.
